Job summary

NCW Libraries is seeking a Library Assistant for on-call substitute duties at a branch. You will provide friendly customer service, issue library cards, check materials in and out, and assist patrons with technology. Position is non-regular and on-call with flexible evenings and weekends.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and customer service experience. Fluency in English preferred; Spanish helpful. Wage is $17.99 per hour with WA state paid sick leave accruals only.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, courteous support to customers and patrons.
• Issues library cards and assists with check-in/check-out of materials.
• Assists patrons with technology and databases.
• Maintains organization of materials and shelving.
• Assists in opening/closing procedures and resolves patron questions.
• Promotes inclusion and teamwork within the branch.
