Job summary

CAP Northwest is hiring an on-call Kitchen Assistant at Our House Portland, a Residential Care Facility. The role combines kitchen support and light housekeeping in common areas, within an interdisciplinary team that provides meals and maintains the facility environment.

Starting pay is $24.28 per hour. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, pass a DHS background check, and hold or obtain a food handler’s card and first aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass DHS background check to work in a Residential Care Facility.
• First aid certification or ability to become certified.
• Food handler’s card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the nurse on duty.
• Creates documentation for both roles (written and electronic).
• Works as a team with staff, residents, and volunteers.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Takes direction professionally and handles conflicts.
• Attends all staff meetings and 12 in-service hours per year.
