Job summary

Cascadia Healthcare is hiring a Culinary Aide to assist with food preparation and service for residents, staff, and events. You will follow safety standards, portion control, and temperature guidelines to ensure tasty, well-presented meals.

You'll work Monday–Friday with weekends, from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm, earning $19–$26 per hour depending on experience. A high school diploma is preferred, and a Food Handler permit may be required. Prior long-term care kitchen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets, employees, and events.
• Prepares and/or portions food using proper food handling and safety techniques.
• Ensures meals are delivered on time and served attractively.
• Uses standardized recipes to prepare menu items.
• Maintains proper temperatures and records temperatures.
• Serves meals and snacks according to diet orders and preferences.
• Labels, dates, and stores food properly.
• Keeps work area clean and uncluttered.
• Handles cleaning tasks and uses proper cleaners.
• Maintains kitchen equipment in clean and safe condition.
• Assists in receiving and verifying invoices and stock levels.
• Works as a team member and interacts positively with residents, families, and visitors.
