Job summary

The City of Odessa is seeking a skilled plumber to repair, maintain, and install plumbing systems across City-owned buildings. The role requires being available for 24-hour call and completing tasks under the Building Maintenance Supervisor's guidance.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, records keeping, permit pulling, and coordinating with other crafts. A valid Texas journeyman license and driver license are mandatory, with safety shoes required on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years' experience in installation and maintenance of plumbing.
• Ability to read/write English on blueprints, schematics, diagrams, signs and manuals.
• Texas Driver's License and Texas Journeyman Plumber license required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and install plumbing in City buildings.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections for efficiency.
• Keep records on major equipment service and replacement.
• Replenish supplies to maintain inventory.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and materials.
• Interact with other crafts and the public.
• Pull plumbing permits for all jobs.
• Finalize all plumbing projects.
• Attend to city operations with regular attendance.
