Job summary

City of Arlington is seeking a Plumber to install, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems across city facilities. You will diagnose issues, read blueprints, ensure code compliance, and work with teams to complete projects efficiently.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in commercial plumbing, and a Texas Journeyman license preferred; Backflow certification may be required within 12 months, and a Class C license is expected. On-site, with on-call potential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and requirements.
  • Familiarity with backflow prevention and related regulations.
  • Pro-press and fittings, soldering copper tubing, threading steel pipe.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand diagrams and specs.
  • Ability to develop and implement planned maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems in city facilities.
  • Receive work requests, diagnose issues, and perform timely repairs.
  • Install DWV, domestic water, and natural gas systems according to codes.
  • Lead troubleshooting and assist other technicians on complex repairs.
  • Maintain records of materials and labor hours.
