Job summary

ProSearch is seeking a Field Support Technician for on-site work at client locations in Portland and southern Maine. This on-call, contract role handles workstation setup, hardware swaps, cabling, and basic network tasks under documented procedures.

Responsibilities include remote-hands support for engineers, asset inventory, and precise documentation of work. Excellent communication and reliability are essential for success in this client-facing role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on desktop or field support experience.
• Comfortable setting up Windows workstations and peripherals.
• Basic TCP/IP networking understanding and ability to identify common network gear.
• Ability to follow written procedures and remote direction without unapproved changes.
• Strong written communication and on-site professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and set up laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals.
• Perform approved hardware swaps and replacements.
• Connect, patch, label, and trace network cabling.
• Provide remote-hands support for engineers.
• Document completed work and findings in the ticketing system.
• Escalate when work deviates from approved scope.
