Qualifications

• Specialized HVAC training with 5 years of related experience or an equivalent education/experience mix.
• EPA Certification required.
• Must be available for emergency/on-call duties and provide a contact number.
• Knowledge of electricity, voltage, amperage for motors/compressors.
• Knowledge of welding and soldering for boilers and AC systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing for piping, valves, and fittings.
• Math skills for HVAC loads and duct sizing.
• Ability to read directions on equipment labels and to order parts.

Responsibilities

• Drives a utility truck to campus buildings and inspects mechanical rooms.
• Creates weekly reports on HVAC operations and logs data.
• Responds to HVAC-related calls and completes work orders.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Calibrates and services pneumatic and digital controls.
• Maintains air handlers, coils, and filters; replaces or cleans components as needed.
• Checks freon charge and repairs components like valves, belts, and thermostats.
• Uses meters and tools to diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical issues.
• Reads blueprints to determine function and layout of systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
