Job summary

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is seeking an On-Call Banquet House Attendant. You will set up, maintain, and break down banquet and meeting spaces to high standards, supporting meetings, conferences, weddings, and events with guests and colleagues.

This role requires a friendly, professional attitude, teamwork, and the ability to move equipment safely. The position offers on-call hours with shifts that vary by event schedules, rewarding service in a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, hospitality, event setup, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet and meeting rooms according to event orders and plans.
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, and other equipment.
• Ensure spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Support with audiovisual setup as directed.
• Move and transport banquet equipment safely around the property.
• Assist banquet servers and other team members to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor spaces during events and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in all function areas.
• Collaborate with Banquet Managers and other departments for successful events.
• Uphold Hyatt service standards and brand expectations.
• Work flexible shifts as required by business needs.

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is looking for an On-Call House Attendant, who is excited, qualified, hard-working individual with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. The On-Call Banquet House Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet and meeting spaces, ensuring event rooms are prepared according to specifications and maintained to the highest standards. This role supports the successful execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, social functions, and special events while delivering exceptional service to guests and team members.

Duties and Functions

• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures


• Works as part of a team


• Portrays a positive friendly and professional attitude at all times, always smiles and greets guests warmly and genuinely


• Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests


• Provides help and support to all fellow colleagues


• Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings


• Sets up banquet and meeting rooms according to event orders, floor plans, and supervisor instructions


• Arranges tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, and other event equipment as required


• Ensure banquet and event spaces are clean, organized, and ready prior to guest arrival


• Performs room resets and modifications during functions as requested by management or clients


• Breaks down banquet and meeting rooms following events and properly stores all equipment and supplies


• Transports banquet equipment, furniture, and supplies safely and efficiently throughout the property


• Maintains banquet storage areas in a clean, organized, and orderly condition


• Assists with the setup and breakdown of audiovisual equipment as directed


• Monitors event spaces throughout functions and reports any maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns


• Ensures all banquet equipment is handled, stored, and maintained properly to prevent damage


• Assists banquet servers and other team members as needed to ensure seamless event execution


• Supports indoor and outdoor event operations based on business needs


• Maintains high standards of cleanliness in all function spaces, pre-function areas, and back -of-house banquet areas


• Follows all departmental procedures and instructions to ensure efficient event operations


• Responds promptly and professionally to guest requests during banquet functions


• Collaborates with Banquet Managers, Supervisors, Catering, and other hotel departments to ensure successful event execution


• Upholds the service standards and brand expectations of Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa


• Performs other duties as assigned by management to support banquet and hotel operations


• Maintains a safe working environment and immediately reports accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions


• Demonstrates flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business demands and event schedules
