Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks a contingent courier driver to transport lab materials, pharmacy items, and equipment using hospital vehicles. You will drive on-demand routes and scheduled courier runs.

Requires valid Ohio driver’s license, ability to pass motor vehicle background checks, and strong communication. Training will be provided; on-call shifts with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily.
• Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers.
• Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines.
• Evaluates weather conditions to preplan trips and delays.
• Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle per guidelines.
• Assists in training of new staff and documents progress.
• Provides customer service to ensure satisfaction and quality patient care.
