Job summary

Hospice of the Midwest in Woodbury, MN is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to provide after-hours hospice care. You will deliver hands-on patient care, assess urgent symptoms, administer meds, and guide families through the care process.

You will collaborate with physicians, document thoroughly, and support families during difficult times. We value compassionate, licensed RNs with 1 year of nursing experience (3+ preferred) and hospice exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current state nursing license.
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on care to hospice patients during after-hours on an on-call basis.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medications or adjust care per hospice protocols.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and orders.
• Provide guidance to patients and families about current condition and next steps.
• Pronounce death if occurs during on-call hours and follow related procedures.
• Complete timely documentation and communications.
