Job summary

MJHS is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse to provide urgent after-hours visits, coordinating with the triage team and hospice physicians to address patient needs in New Jersey and surrounding areas.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, NYS RN licensure preferred, and experience in medical-surgical, hospice, or oncology settings. Utilizes Word/Excel and Windows apps to document care and communicate updates.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• At least two years experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Hospice or Oncology nursing preferred.
• New York State RN licensure preferred; NYS license/certification evidenced as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call patient visits scheduled or unscheduled for urgent issues after hours.
• Coordinate with Call Center Triage and On Call Manager; respond via cell phone.
• Educate patients and primary caregivers on changes to plan of care, including medication management and safety.
• Attend patient deaths as directed to provide emotional support and guidance to family.
• Report changes to triage and hospice team and follow up needs.
