Job summary

Generations Hospice is seeking an RN to serve on-call in Wisconsin, providing compassionate hospice nursing care across Fond du Lac, Beaver Dam, Columbus, Ripon, and Mayville. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for external hires.

The role supports an after-hours triage team and requires travel within the territory. The position offers a full-time 7-on/7-off schedule with evening to night hours on weekdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with WI licensure.
• One year nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy and care.
• Must be a licensed driver with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary.
• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipating the next steps.
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact funeral home, and notify hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.
