Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC in Minot, ND is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our field team. You will transport, operate, and service heavy equipment used in clearing railroad derailments, and perform material handling with steel chains, blocks, and cables.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with no restrictions and DOT knowledge; you must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, be on-call, and travel to job sites frequently.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on call 24/7 and travel frequently to job sites.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and driving requirements.
• Ability to operate heavy or specialized equipment (e.g., Sideboom, Track Loader, Excavator, Vac Truck, Grapple Truck).
• Must pass background, drug screen, and physical capacity test.

Responsibilities

• Transport and operate heavy equipment used for clearing railroad derailments.
• Handle heavy steel chains, blocks, cables, and other devices.
• Practice safety and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Safely drive and maintain CDL-A vehicles and equipment.
• Set up and maintain equipment; use cutting torches and welding as needed.
• Dig, hammer, and perform physical tasks with various tools.
• Follow DOT regulations and permits.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Communicate with team and supervisor during the job.
• Other duties as assigned.
