Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN Forensic Nurse Examiner position.

The role requires at least 2 years of acute care RN experience and includes night and weekend coverage with a flexible schedule and minimum 40 hours on-call in a 4-week cycle. The FNE provides nursing care for patients affected by sexual assault, abuse or related forensic issues, with documentation, evidence collection and testimony responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of acute care RN experience.
• Eligible for (within the first 6 months in position) or currently certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE).
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete evidentiary examinations per protocol.
• Document and preserve chain of custody for forensic evidence.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and victim advocacy services.
