Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time Forensic Nurse Examiner role. The FNE will provide comprehensive adult, adolescent, and pediatric forensic care, including evidence collection, documentation, and collaboration with law enforcement, while maintaining chain of custody and testifying as needed.

The position requires 2 years RN experience with 1 year Forensic Nurse Examiner experience and FNE certification.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years RN experience with 1 year Forensic Nurse Examiner experience.
• FNE Certification required.
• Maryland RN licensure is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial and ongoing patient assessment using nursing process.
• Performs complete evidentiary examinations per protocol and documents findings.
• Maintains chain of custody for evidence collection.
• Communicates with law enforcement and other agencies as needed.
• Testsifies as an expert witness in court when required.
• Ensures compliance with FH mission, values, and regulatory requirements.
