Job summary

Columbus Water Works is seeking a field operations worker to perform heavy manual labor and operate essential machinery for water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role includes setting up safety equipment, coordinating with foremen, and supporting team operations with minimal supervision.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least one year in construction. On-call duties and safety certifications within a year are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is the minimum education requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
• Minimum of one year construction experience or pipeline construction preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
• Certification in Confined Space Entry, Trench Excavation, Flagging, CPR and First Aid within one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for daily assignments by loading trucks with materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean, wash and fuel vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Operate equipment with minimal supervision (rodding, tapping, boring machines, jack hammer, pipe saw, etc.).
• Coordinate with Construction Tradesman and Foreman to complete jobs.
• Perform manual labor for construction and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater systems.
