Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an On-Call Field Biologist / Environmental Planner to support environmental planning services from the Albuquerque, NM or El Paso, TX offices. You will assist in planning, data collection, field surveys for plants and animals, and coordination with agencies and tribal stakeholders.

The role requires travel up to 80% of the time, typically 2–6 days per trip, with work supporting development of environmental planning documents and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Ecology, Biological Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• 1 to 5 years of environmental planning field experience including field surveys for plants/animals, construction support, impact assessments, and permitting.
• Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond typical workweek.
• Experience with research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, permitting requirements, and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement environmental projects to ensure compliance with laws and regulations under supervision.
• Contribute to natural resources portions of planning documents.
• Assist with project development requirements with WSP personnel, contractors, and agencies/tribal stakeholders.
