Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a part-time, temporary On-Call Archaeologist to provide cultural resources support throughout southern California. The role involves coordinating compliance with historic preservation laws and conducting all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including phases I-III.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and be familiar with state regulations. Expect varying work conditions and travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related degree.
• Knowledge of historic preservation laws and policies, including NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigned Phase I, II and III field projects and monitoring.
• Conducting pre-field research, fieldwork and laboratory analysis.
• Prepare technical reports.

Skills

Knowledge of historic preservation laws

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills
