Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians for the Northwest Region, including Seattle, WA, Portland, and Bend, OR. You will monitor construction activities, identify archaeological resources, and communicate with project personnel while working in diverse field settings across urban and rural sites.

The role requires 5+ years of archaeology experience, a valid driver’s license, ability to pass background checks, and the stamina to work outdoors in

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in archaeology or related environmental consulting work.
• Associate degree or equivalent coursework in archaeology/anthropology/history.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to pass federal and state background checks.
• Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs and walking long distances.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities for archaeological resources.
• Communicate effectively with construction crews and project personnel.
• Maintain daily surveys, monitoring logs, and cataloging records using electronic data tools and GIS.
