Job summary

Project Open Hand Inc. in San Francisco and Oakland is seeking a Custodian, On-call to perform general maintenance, custodial duties, and ensure clean, safe facilities (excluding the kitchen). The role requires flexibility to cover day and swing shifts and occasional nights.

Qualifications include 1+ year janitorial/maintenance experience, knowledge of cleaning supplies safety, a valid California driver’s license, and English communication skills. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in janitorial/maintenance with strong janitorial procedures and safe handling of cleaning supplies.
• Schedule flexibility; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Oral and written English proficiency to communicate effectively.
• Valid California driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Daily custodial tasks: vacuuming, trash removal, general cleaning of surfaces and windows.
• Maintain elevators, stairwells and lobby areas to keep them clean and debris-free.
• Clean restrooms daily and replenish supplies safely.
• Assist with break rooms, equipment and minor in-house repairs.
• Support Emergency Response Team drills and respond to emergencies.
