Job summary

Husson University seeks a dedicated maintenance professional to join its campus team in Bangor, ME. The role focuses on upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment, performing tasks from routine repairs to preventive maintenance to keep the university safe and functional.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, plumbing and carpentry assistance, snow removal in winter, and supporting cost-saving and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience and/or training in facilities maintenance or construction preferred.
• Background in plumbing preferred.
• Basic computer experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment related to this job description is required.

Responsibilities

• Enter and track maintenance work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Assist in maintenance and upkeep of university properties including painting, remodeling, and carpentry.
• Move, deliver and repair office/dorm furniture and equipment.
• Assist in landscaping maintenance including mowing, raking, and planting.
• Perform work from ladders, elevated platforms and rooftops.
• Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of university vehicles and equipment.
• Assist in snow removal from roads and walkways.
• Participate in on-call duty rotation.
• Support cost savings, quality improvement and safety initiatives.
