Job summary

The City of Lubbock is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to operate and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial heating and cooling equipment, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems. This role requires flexibility for on-call duties.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with additional technical training or hands-on experience in structural trades, a valid driver's license, and a CFC Universal Certification or ability to obtain it within 90

Qualifications

Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of technical training or hands-on experience in building trades.
Certification in CFC-Universal or ability to acquire within 90 days after hire.
Valid driver’s license and physical exam as required.

Responsibilities

Operate and perform preventive maintenance and skilled repair on commercial heating and cooling systems.
Inspect equipment and determine repair or maintenance needs; perform repairs as needed.
Replace motors, electrical components, and refrigerants; perform refrigeration work as required.
Perform plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work to maintain, repair, construct, or modify buildings and equipment.
Assist in project planning, prepare equipment and supply lists, and may instruct other staff.
Maintain related records and perform other duties as required.
