Job summary

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas in California seeks a Houseperson - Event Set Up to prepare and maintain event spaces for meetings, banquets, weddings and other gatherings. You will assist with tables, chairs, linens, staging, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for guests.

You will collaborate with Event Coordinators and Banquet staff, handling physical tasks, safety standards, and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in event setup or a similar role.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and the occasional overnight shift.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment.
• Ensure all event areas are clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Assist with the placement and setup of audio-visual equipment as needed.
• Maintain inventory of event supplies and report any shortages or damages.
• Collaborate with event coordinators and other staff to meet the specific needs of each event.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Event Service Manager or Event Coordinator.
