Job summary

City of Mount Vernon is seeking a part-time on-call Facility Monitor to oversee rental facilities and ensure safe, compliant events. You will provide excellent customer service to renters and guests, handle administrative tasks, and assist with facility operations and maintenance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years of age, and experience working with the public; First Aid/CPR certification required within 6 months of hire. Sick leave is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience working with the public or large groups is preferred.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Open and prepare facilities for use and conduct walk-throughs with renters.
• Enforce rules and suspend or end events if regulations are not followed.
• Promote safety and maintain order during events across facility grounds.
• Perform administrative tasks (copies, laminating, permits, reporting).
• Provide excellent customer service and troubleshoot issues for renters.
• Operate facility equipment (sound systems, laptops, projector, kitchen appliances).
• Perform custodial duties (cleaning, restrooms, surfaces).
• Assist with locking up facilities during evenings/weekends as needed.
• Handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
