Job summary

Norfolk Public Schools in Norfolk, Massachusetts seeks a Day to Day Substitute Custodian to provide students, teachers and staff with a safe and clean environment. This is a Monday through Friday on-call night substitute custodian position to help the Facilities Department fill gaps in our school custodial schedule.

Specific duties include cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, office spaces, common areas, gymnasium, cafeteria and library; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping; restocking

Qualifications

• Knowledge of how to operate custodial equipment.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds.
• Ability to follow written and verbal English instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals handling.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, office spaces and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors; clean and sanitize surfaces.
• Restock bathroom dispensers; clean glass surfaces; dust furniture and fixtures.
• Disposal of trash and recycling; maintain stocked supply room; report inventory needs.
