Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Environmental Specialist for on-call emergency response in Mount Olive, NJ. The role involves spill response, confined space entry, and hazardous/non-hazardous material handling in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements include a 40-hour HAZWOPER, valid driver's license, and willingness to obtain a CDL with Hazardous endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is required; a B.S. in chemistry or related science is preferred.

Qualifications

• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to obtain Class A/B CDL with Hazardous endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Sample waste streams according to policies and procedures.
• Manifest, package, spill cleanup, and coordinate transportation.
• Maintain professional image and respond to client inquiries.
• Comply with all DOT/EPA and company safety policies.
• Familiarize with DOT/EPA and company disposal paperwork regulations.
