Job summary

Veolia is seeking a hazardous materials technician to provide remedial and disposal services, including spill response, packaging, labeling, and transport coordination. The role requires DOT/EPA knowledge and compliance with VES-TS procedures.

The position includes on-call emergency response duties, confined space entry, and lifting up to 60 pounds. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and CDL endorsement are required or obtainable, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain Class A or B CDL with Hazardous endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill cleanup response, labeling, loading/unloading, and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients; answer inquiries and propose solutions.
• Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental procedures, including VES-TS policies.
• Become familiar with DOT/EPA and VES-TS regulations in submitting paperwork for hazardous waste disposal.
• On-call emergency response including nights and weekends.
• Confined space entry.
