Job summary

VanWonen is seeking an Emergency Management support professional to assist in developing and refining plans, conducting exercises, and training across public safety entities. You will interact with officials and community leaders to strengthen readiness and response capabilities.

The role includes on-call emergency staffing, situational assessment, and activation of the emergency operations plan, with required EOC staffing and liaison notifications to the State of Michigan. Benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with coursework in emergency management or planning, public safety, disaster response or related field.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.
• NIMS 100/200/300/400/700/800 coursework as required by mandates.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of emergency management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and refining emergency management plans and exercises.
• Provide training and coordinate with public safety officials and community leaders.
• Serve in an on-call capacity for emergency and disaster response.
• Conduct situational assessments and activate the emergency operations plan.
• Staff the EOC and notify State liaisons as required.
