Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking a Technician – Electrical to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment across district facilities. The role covers high voltage to 480-volt circuits, and focuses on safe, timely completion of tasks in line with codes and district standards.

Responsibilities include on-call duty rotations, reading plans, estimating materials, and coordinating with other trades to complete projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
• Minimum three years' experience as an Electrician.
• Commercial/Industrial Electrical Certification or Electrical License preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
• Knowledge of electrical code and how to read codes from books, internet, plans, etc.

Responsibilities

• Participates in on-call duty and responds to after hours calls per schedule.
• Troubleshoots electrical issues and recommends solutions.
• Coordinates with supervisor and other trades for efficient work orders.
• Installs or replaces lighting, switches, outlets, breakers; runs new circuits.
• Repairs or replaces fire alarm systems and equipment.
• Reads electrical plans and estimates materials.
