Job summary

Horry County Schools Facilities is seeking a Technician Electrical in Conway, South Carolina. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical systems and equipment, including high and low voltage circuits.

You will read plans, plan rewiring, and coordinate with other trades to complete work orders safely and efficiently. The position requires a high school diploma (technical degree preferred), at least three years of electrician experience, and SC

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience as an Electrician.
  • Commercial/Industrial Electrical Certification or Electrical License preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Knowledge of electrical code and how to read codes from books, internet, plans, etc.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in on-call duty and responds to after-hours calls per the rotational schedule.
  • Troubleshoots electrical issues and recommends solutions.
  • Installs or replaces lighting components and runs new circuits as necessary.
  • Repairs and/or replaces fire alarm system/equipment and performs electrical elevator repairs.
  • Reads electrical plans and performs take-offs of materials and equipment.
  • Maintains, services, and tests generators and transfer switches.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
