Job summary

LightEdge Solutions, a premier data center and cloud services provider in San Diego, seeks a Data Center Technician to monitor and manage building systems, power, cooling, security, and fire suppression. You will install racks, assist with client service installations, handle on-call duties, and ensure uptime across 24x7 facilities.

The role emphasizes teamwork, procedures, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year technical degree or 1-4 years equivalent technical experience.
• Network cabling termination experience - Ethernet, CAT6, Fiber.
• Day-to-day maintenance knowledge in data centers.
• Familiarity with telco central office equipment/transport systems.
• Strong computer hardware/software skills; MS Office proficiency.
• Basic electricity knowledge and electrical literature.
• Understanding of data center cooling and airflow management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience documenting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with Lightedge personnel to diagnose and troubleshoot data center equipment.
• Install servers and networking gear into racks with cabling.
• Support client service installations with project managers and techs.
• Receive and document incoming shipments.
• Respond to alarm events affecting infrastructure and services.
• Follow Change Control processes and review MOPs for changes.
• Assist in design/layout and documentation of racks/cages.
• Be on-call for after-hours support and routine maintenance.
