Job summary

Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, WA is seeking an On-Call Custodian 1 to provide custodial services for resident veterans. The role includes cleaning assigned areas, carpeting, sanitizing, restocking supplies, and assisting staff while maintaining safety standards.

Minimum age 18 and ability to lift up to 60 lbs, read/write English, and pass background checks are required. On-call shifts offered with at least three shifts per week on two different shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to work around odors, pathogens, and infections while caring for residents.
• Excellent listening skills and ability to work with staff/residents from diverse backgrounds.
• Must follow policies, maintain quality/safety, and infection control standards.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting up to 60 lbs and perform bending, stooping.
• Must have basic computer literacy to complete required trainings.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Education/experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide custodial cleaning in assigned areas, resident rooms, common areas, and offices.
• Vacuum, mop, disinfect, and maintain cleanliness of floors and fixtures.
• Restock custodial supplies and maintain equipment.
