Job summary

Muhlenberg School District is seeking a substitute custodian for a part-time on-call position at the Muhlenberg School District Campus. The role encompasses custodial maintenance including dusting, mopping, floor finishing and carpet shampooing, restroom stocking and general cleaning.

Primary duties include daily equipment checks, trash disposal, grounds work, snow removal, and ensuring safety and proper chemical handling. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of operation of power cleaning equipment.
• Must have current valid PA Driver’s license.
• Must be available to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous Custodial Experience Preferred.
• Submission of pre-employment medical examination and background checks as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Daily check of floor cleaning equipment.
• Trash pickup and disposal.
• Grass cutting, shrub trimming, mulching, weeding, fertilizing, etc.
• Snow removal for district properties and walkways.
• Maintain tools and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
• Follows all safety rules and directives.
• Safe handling, use and measurement of chemicals.
• Familiarity with evacuation routes and emergency procedures.
