On-Call Custodian

Description

The custodian position is an important role in the functioning of our school. The custodian will perform tasks in maintenance, cleaning, and care of our school while providing a safe and clean environment for our students and staff.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Custodian Manager

Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.

Compensation

This is an on-call, non-exempt, position. The hourly rate is $17.32 - $23.38 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions

• Ensures all assigned tasks per daily schedule are completed with quality and in an efficient manner which may include the following activities.
• Washes walls.
• Vacuums carpets.
• Clean and polishes windows.
• Dusts surfaces as needed.
• Light painting and drywall fixes as needed.
• Light maintenance, including but not limited to, fixing furniture and unclogging toilets and sinks, as needed.
• Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors.
• Safely operates commercial custodial equipment and use cleaning and disinfecting chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable safety regulations.
• Cleans bathrooms and polishes all metal surfaces.
• Ensures all paper products dispensers are kept supplied.
• Reports any vandalism or broken items immediately to supervisor.
• Empties trash in all classroom and offices.
• Cleans human fluids as needed per established safety standards.
• Cleans showers, auditorium, and gymnasiums as assigned.
• Sets up and tears down equipment for events as directed.
• Assists with grounds keeping and or maintenance as assigned.
• Snow removal.
• Others duties as assigned.

Additionally

• Be present and engage in Pinnacle functions and events to build strong relationships with students, families, peers, and the community.
• Maintain and deepen current professional learning on an ongoing basis
• Regular and timely attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education, License, and Requirements

• Custodial experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Working Conditions

Exposure/Noise Level: Outdoor and indoor school environment with moderate to high noise level and exposure to weather elements

Mental Functions: Analyze, collaborate, communicate, compare, compilation of data, compute, coordinate, copy, evaluate, interpersonal skills, present, report, synthesize

Physical Activities: Outdoor and indoor environment including computer interface. Bend, reach, sit, stand, stoop, talk, walk, and person-to-person interaction with students, parents, peers, and community members.

Weight and Force Demands: Heavy physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 pounds)

Other: May be required to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work related functions.
