Position Summary: The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly school environment that supports student learning and staff effectiveness. This role involves daily cleaning, basic maintenance, and ensuring school facilities meet health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeteria, and common areas daily.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners and dispose of waste properly.
• Refill restroom and classroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
• Set up and break down furniture for school events, meetings, and activities.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (changing light bulbs, minor repairs, tightening fixtures).
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to supervisors.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers scrubbers and vacuums.
• Assist with snow removal and exterior grounds maintenance as needed.
• Follow district safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support emergency procedures (spill cleanup, weather events, lockdown protocols).

Qualifications:

Salary & Benefits: Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience; benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and holiday pay.

Contract Terms: The Custodian works throughout the year(52 weeks/260 days) to assist with custodial duties in the building. Vacation and paid leave days available.
