Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks an on-call CPR Instructor to train district employees in CPR per American Heart Association guidelines, including BLS certification. You will evaluate skills, provide feedback, and ensure proper use of training equipment.

Responsibilities include managing course logistics, operating AV tools, and ensuring compliance with AHA standards while delivering engaging instruction across shifts including days, evenings, and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum one year training experience with strong communication skills; knowledge of DVD/VCR player and flat screen monitors.
• Licenses/Certificates: Current American Heart Association Instructor (BLS) and American Heart Association healthcare provider.

Responsibilities

• Follows American Heart Association curriculum strictly when teaching CPR courses.
• Appraises student psychomotor skills and cognitive knowledge using standard methods.
• Provides ongoing positive and corrective feedback to core participants.
• Offers reasonable extra instruction to students who require additional help.
• Follows proper procedures for the set-up and dismantling of course equipment.
• Operates audio-visual equipment successfully including DVD players and flat-screen monitors.
