Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 hourly

Job Summary

The On-Call Counselor is available to work as needed to cover shifts that include ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents at the facility and supporting program operations. This role requires experience or education working with individuals who struggle with mental illness and substance use disorders, and a passion to serve this unique population. The counselor will manage multiple tasks and work swing, night, and weekend shifts. Availability to cover weekend shifts is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to emails, texts, or phone calls in a timely manner and be available for on‑call coverage as needed.
• Ensure adequate safety for program residents and property during specific shift hours.
• Respond to client behavioral, medical, facility, or natural emergencies while on duty.
• Provide therapeutic crisis management with support from the Manager or On‑Call Manager.
• Provide therapeutic intervention services based on best practices and evidence‑based practices for clients with mental health or substance use disorders and co‑occurring disorders.
• Support clients administratively, including evaluation, assessment, counseling, and assistance in implementing treatment plan interventions or facilitating individual, group, and crisis counseling sessions.
• Dispense medication, report incidents, record shift changes, and perform household duties as required.
• Conduct general safety checks and headcounts.
• Comply with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively and use current technology for case notes, incident reports, and correspondence with community service providers.
