Job summary

Green Valley Rehabilitation Center in Eugene, OR is seeking a Cook-on-Call to prepare meals meeting residents’ dietary needs. This PRN role has mornings shifts with varying hours, including weekends and holidays, at $21.27/hr+ (DOE).

Responsibilities include preparing meals per menus, maintaining sanitation, and verifying trays for diet accuracy. Must have HS diploma and ServSafe/food handler certification, plus strong communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other associates.

• Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
• Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.

Green Valley Rehabilitation Center is part of the Volare Health portfolio of long-term care skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation centers located in multiple states. We welcome our residents, their families, and our staff with warm hearts.

Schedule: ONC - PRN (Hours/shifts will vary, weekends/holiday availability, days, and evening shifts)

Pay:$21.27/HR+ (DOE)

Shift - Mornings

Summary:
