Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Round Rock, TX, is seeking a PRN Chaplain 1 to provide spiritual care as part of the multidisciplinary team, assisting patients and families during illness or recovery.

This on-call position may require day, night, and weekend shifts. The Chaplain conducts religious services, offers counseling, supports end-of-life care, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, social workers, and staff to improve patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• CPE with one unit preferred or to be obtained within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, promotes, and conducts religious services for patients, their families and staff including weekly worship, memorial services, baptisms, weddings, anointing and coordinating bereavement needs.
• Provides counseling and other spiritual education activities for employees, students, and patients.
• Supports end-of-life care for patients with pastoral support and counseling to patients and families.
• Partners with physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, and staff as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Performs pastoral assessments of spiritual and emotional status and the need for spiritual care.
• Develops relationships with local churches and community organizations supporting the health system.
• Documents and maintains records of spiritual counseling for patients.
