Job summary

The Chancery in Seattle is seeking a Per Diem On-Call Catholic Chaplain to provide pastoral care, sacraments, and spiritual support to patients and families across multiple hospital campuses. This on-call, part-time role requires coordinating with priests and staff to ensure timely sacraments and spiritual care.

The position requires a theology degree, CPE certification, and experience in healthcare settings; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or related field; Masters preferred.
• Clinical Pastoral Education certification or equivalent required.
• Experience in health-care setting preferred (2+ years).
• Certification through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care, sacraments, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Coordinate sacraments with priests and deanery staff.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls with timely spiritual care.
• Triages Catholic patient needs to optimize priest availability.
• Manage on-call system and liaise with answering service.
• Provide Catholic materials to patients and families as needed.
