Job summary

When a client needs help unexpectedly, having a dependable caregiver available can make all the difference.

As an On-Call Caregiver, you provide essential support when regular staffing changes or urgent client needs arise. You will help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own homes while having the flexibility to select on-call hours that work with your schedule.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

During your assigned on-call period, you will:

• Remain available and prepared to accept client assignments.
• Respond to calls from the On-Call Supervisor within 15 minutes.
• Be prepared to leave for an assignment within 30 minutes of being contacted.
• Accept assignments during your scheduled on-call period, regardless of location.
• Provide care in private homes and, when needed, assisted living or hospice settings.
• Review the client's care plan before beginning each assignment.
• Provide care according to your HHA, CNA, or PCA responsibilities and qualifications.
• Maintain reliable transportation and a clean, insured, properly maintained vehicle.
• Communicate promptly with the agency regarding client concerns, schedule changes, or other issues.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach with every client.
• Follow all PPE and infection-control procedures as trained.
• Maintain reliable access to email for important company and scheduling communications.

HOW ON-CALL WORKS

On-call caregivers commit to specific days and hours of availability. You may receive an assignment at any point during your scheduled window, including overnight.

For example, if your on-call period is 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, you may be contacted at any time during those hours for a shift beginning later that evening or overnight.

You receive an on-call stipend for your availability, in addition to your regular hourly pay for completed client visits.

Failure to meet the requirements of your scheduled on-call period may result in loss of the on-call stipend.
