The On-Call Banquet Server supports delivering exceptional service during banquets, weddings, meetings, and other events.

This flexible, on-call role lets you sign up for shifts based on availability, with evenings, weekends, and holidays often open.

  • Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event specifications and floor plans.
  • Prepare tables with linens, silverware, glassware, and décor as directed.

  • Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming guest experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, event details, and service standards.
  • Clear tables and assist with breakdown and post-event cleanup.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet and service areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with banquet captains, culinary staff, and event teams.

Proof of the Pudding (POP) provides award-winning catering and provisions to conferences, meetings, exhibitions, conventions, and special events at the Gas South District Convention Center. As one of Georgia’s busiest convention centers, every day brings new opportunities to create, design, and execute memorable events for a variety of guests.

The On-Call Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service during banquets, weddings, meetings, concerts, corporate events, and special functions. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a flexible work schedule, as team members have the ability to accept shifts based on their personal availability and event schedules. Banquet Servers play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences by providing professional, friendly, and efficient service while maintaining high hospitality standards.

This is a flexible, on-call position designed for individuals who want the ability to work around their availability. Team members may sign up or accept shifts based on event needs and personal schedules. Evening, weekend, and holiday opportunities are frequently available, making this a great opportunity for students, part-time workers, or individuals seeking supplemental income.

EESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30–50 pounds
Work Environment

This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, set up, and breakdown. This position will work mostly out of mainly stay within the Gas South District Convention Center but may travel to other venues within the Gas South Region.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged standing and walking during events
  • Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying trays or equipment
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors depending on event location

Position Salary & Benefits

This is considered a part-time hourly position with a starting range of $13-$15/hour.
