Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is seeking a banquet server to support catering events. You will prepare function spaces, set tables, serve beverages, garnish dishes, and ensure guest satisfaction with attentive, passionate service.

Role requires adherence to safety standards, potential night/weekend shifts, and a commitment to delivering the Sonesta guest experience through the GUEST model and personalized care.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and beverages during banquet and catering events.
• Prepare function spaces and set tables and place settings.
• Garnish and decorate dishes, brew coffee, and assist with service as needed.
• Observe diners and respond to requests; determine when meals are completed.
• Suggest desserts and beverages; manage course portions and table clearing.
• Adhere to Sonesta Service Standards and safety guidelines.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests - greet warmly, make eye contact, use guest’s name, anticipate needs, and own requests/complaints.

What this role is all about

Serve meals to patrons for banquet and catering functions.

What you’ll be doing

• Always Adhere to Stay Safe with Sonesta safety guidelines.
• Prepare function room for banquet function; set tables and place settings.
• Serve drink of choice to guests.
• Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving.
• Observe diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
• Suggest desserts, beverages and after dinner drinks.
• Ladle soup, toss salads, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee and perform other services as needed.
• Clear and reset tables at conclusion of each course.
• Adhere to Sonesta Service Standards.
• Adhere to all Sonesta Safety and Sanitation Standards.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
• Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests
  • You will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests, recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs to exceed their expectations
  • You will consistently deliver our GUEST model:
    • Greet or welcome everyone, warmly with a smile
    • Use eye and ear contact and guest’s name
    • Establish/anticipate needs
    • Solve and own all requests/complaints
    • Thank everyone

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

$10.39 to $11.39 base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience. This position is eligible for gratuities.
