Job summary

The Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District is seeking an On-call Banquet Bartender to deliver beverages to guests with friendliness and timeliness, enhancing guest satisfaction. Located in downtown Omaha, this role supports premier events and daily service.

Responsibilities include bar setup, garnishes, guest interaction, drink preparation, par sheet updates, cash handling, and compliance with liquor laws.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of bartending experience required, basic knowledge of beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• TIPS certification required.
• Basic mathematical skills to operate cash registers, make change, total guest checks, and manage cash drops.
• Basic English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers and to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach stock.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set up the bar daily with necessary supplies per BEOs and check par levels of beer, wine, and spirits.
• Stock, cut, and store fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables to maintain quality.
• Greet guests courteously, take drink orders, mix and garnish drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
• Update par sheets during shifts for accuracy and accountability.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar and guest areas throughout the shift.
• Handle cash transactions, verify charges, record charges, and balance money.
• Lock and store all beverages, food, and equipment items.
• Follow liquor laws and assist security with disorderly guests.
