Job Summary
The AV Technician III / Senior is a highly experienced professional responsible for leading complex audiovisual operations, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting the overall performance and development of the AV function. This role serves as a subject‑matter expert and technical leader, overseeing high‑profile events and managing advanced AV systems with precision and confidence. In addition to technical leadership, the AV Technician III plays a key role in mentoring and developing team members, reinforcing standards, and promoting consistency across operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (preferred)
- Advanced certifications in AV technology (preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive AV experience
- Experience handling complex, high‑level events
- Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians
- Experience working with Microsoft and Apple products and other related AV software
- Strong technical leadership and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent client relationship and team leadership abilities
- Operational excellence and strategic thinking
- Professionalism, leadership presence, and adaptability
Job Specific Duties
- Lead complex, multi‑room, or high‑profile event production and oversee technical execution
- Serve as escalation point for critical technical challenges and advanced issues
- Design and implement AV solutions for unique or non‑standard event needs
- Train, mentor, and support development of AV team members (Technician I and II)
- Provide coaching, feedback, and assistance with onboarding and skill development
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Support equipment planning, upgrades, and standardization
- Collaborate with leadership on long‑term AV operational needs
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment upgrades
- Develop and standardize best practices for AV operations
- Partner with high‑level clients and stakeholders on AV solutions and technical guidance
- Ensure safety, compliance, and quality assurance standards are met
