Job summary

WSP is seeking an On-Call Early Career Archaeological Field Technician for our Albuquerque, New Mexico office, with field duties extending into Texas. You will join the New Mexico Team and support pre-construction cultural resource activities in a growing, client-focused environment.

You will conduct fieldwork, reporting, and mitigation, assist with data collection and site forms, and stay current on Section 106 regulations. 0–3 years of experience and travel readiness are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in cultural resource management.
• Knowledge of surveys for cultural resources in public/private sectors.
• Ability to travel 2–10 days at a time, including SE NM.
• Ability to navigate and collect data with GPS equipment.
• Good organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with business writing and office software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cultural resources fieldwork, reporting and mitigation for pre-construction projects.
• Assist with fieldwork activities, monitoring, data collection, inventory and site form preparation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Section 106 regulations and planning practices.
• Travel to project sites, including the Albuquerque area and beyond as needed.
