Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related field.
  • Proficient in prehistoric and/or historic archaeology in the Midwest region.
  • Proficient in documenting archaeological sites and IOs/IFs in the Midwest region.
  • Excellent navigational skills (GPS and compass) and ability to navigate and drive 4WD vehicles.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Crew Member for the project.
  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II cultural resources surveys.
  • Document archaeological sites and IOs/IFs.
  • Conduct probing or shovel testing.
  • Use hand-held field technology (ArcGIS app with sub-meter GPS).
  • Work in moderate weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Follow instruction and feedback and support safety culture.
