Job description

Join to apply for the On-Call Archaeologist role at Stantec.

This position is based in Northern California and involves fieldwork across California, with potential opportunities in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. It can be located in any Nor-Cal office and reports to the On-Call Staff Supervisor in Petaluma.

Your Responsibilities include:

  1. Identifying and recording archaeological potential, sites, and traditional use sites.
  2. Collaborating with Field Directors/Supervisors on cultural resource management.
  3. Collecting field data and participating in reconnaissance surveys.
  4. Assisting in impact assessments and excavations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology with at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Participation in archaeological field schools is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Additional Skills:

  • Interest in Cultural Resource Management.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to travel as needed.
  • Valid California driver’s license required.
