Your Opportunity

We are looking to expand our Northern California archaeological team. This position can be based out of any of our Nor-Cal offices and will report to our On-Call Staff Supervisor in our Petaluma office. Work will take place throughout California, with potential opportunities in the Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. This is a fieldwork position and work need is heavily influenced by the seasonal weather. On occasion, there may be opportunity for office and/or lab-based work. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in identifying and recording areas of archeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.

  • Work closely with a Field Director/Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management.

  • Collect field data

  • Participate in field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type)

  • Assist in archaeological impact assessments

    "Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required and minimum 1 year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience preferred.

  • Participation in an archaeological field school is seen as an asset.

  • Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. Your Capabilities and Credentials- I nterest in Cultural Resource Management

  • Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture.

  • Able to travel and work away from home

Salary Range(s):

• Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 44,200.00 - Max Salary $ 61,900.00

• Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 48,600.00 - Max Salary $ 68,100.00

• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA areas - Min Salary $ 52,200.00 - Max Salary $ 73,000.00

• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 55,700.00 - Max Salary $ 78,000.00

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
