Job summary

Alaska Railroad Corporation seeks an On-Board Specialist to deliver exceptional guest experiences aboard Alaska Railroad trains. You will lead and motivate Tour Guides, coordinate with crew, and resolve passenger needs while maintaining safety and comfort.

The role requires on-board leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work long hours in a dynamic environment, with bases in Anchorage or Fairbanks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 3 Months Lead/Supervisory experience is required.
• 3 Months Front Line Customer Service Experience is required.
• ARRC OBS or Tour Guide Experience may be substituted.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates on-the-job training, direction, and motivation of Tour Guides during classroom training, on field trips, and while On-Board trains and buses.
• Mentors, evaluates and leads assigned employees.
• Reports performance of assigned employees to the Manager, On-Board Services.
• Utilizes a microphone to deliver clear narration, including safety and operational announcements.
• Coordinates boarding and de-boarding at key Alaska rail stops and assists passenger needs.
